1964 Ford Falcon Futura convertible

For sale is my 1964 Ford Falcon Futura convertible [not a mustang, Facebook does not have the Falcon in their list of models!]. This is a very complete running and driving project with tons of awesome character.

I bought this Falcon earlier this year- it had been sitting since 1980 in the previous owner’s backyard.

I’ve spent lots of time and money getting this car back on the road; I would love to continue building it, but I need to thin the herd due to a move. I installed a 200 i6 and large log head from a ‘69 mustang (the original motor was long gone) and went through the brakes/fuel system. The falcon still retains the 2 speed auto which shifts great. The body is very straight with minimal rust, the bright work is mostly complete beyond the missing door trim on the passenger side. The rear floors need to be replaced and there are some small holes at the bottom corners of the doors, but the rest of the metal is in excellent condition- even the battery apron!

The interior needs to be redone- the seats are torn and the rest of the vinyl is faded.

This car was factory optioned with a power top (WHICH STILL WORKS!), although the fabric needs to be replaced. All glass is complete and present, I had the windshield replaced and a new gasket installed.

Ford only produced around 14,000 Falcon convertibles in 1964, making this a very unique and desirable car.

I’ve done my best to document everything I’ve done/purchased [I have many receipts* for this car below:
